    At the 5th grade D.A.R.E. graduation students present a skit about what they learned throughout the six week program.

  • Martha Speaks

    Melcher's 4th grade and 2nd grade students team up to do reading and vocabulary activities together. Martha is a talking dog. She eats alphabet soup and the letters go to her brain then she begins speaking. See inside story for more information on the Martha Speaks program.

    This month students were awarded a field trip to Old Country Buffett in Independence, where they especially enjoyed the ice cream. Pictured are students and volunteers at the ice cream machine.

  • Students visit the Nelson Atkins Art Museum

    Mr. Hannel's and Ms. Burton's 6th Grade classes studied the art of the Ancient Egypt. As their culminating activity they took a vist to the Nelson Atkins Art Museum to see first hand some of the ancient artificats and mummies.
