A+ Program
In an effort to enhance educational opportunities for high school students, the Missouri Legislature established the A+ Schools Program as part of the Outstanding Schools Act (Senate Bill 380) of 1993. Graduates who qualify may be eligible to receive financial assistance with tuition and fees to any public community college, vocational, or technical school in the state of Missouri, contingent upon continued funding by the Missouri Legislature. At present, Paseo Academy, East and Lincoln Prep are A+ designated schools.

Career and Technical Education
The KCPS Board recognizes that career education is a developmental process designed to help students prepare for life roles in the family, the community, occupations and avocations. The Board also recognizes that career education gives students the opportunity to examine attitudes, interests, aptitudes and abilities as they relate to the various career pathways, and enables them to make appropriate decisions regarding further education and future endeavors.

Early College Academy
The Early College Academy (ECA) is a partnership between the Kansas City Public Schools and MCC – Penn Valley and has been designed for highly motivated high school students who are ready to leave the high school environment and participate in the rigor of being full-time college students. Through the ECA qualified high school students will earn high school credits while also earning college credits as they attend classes, full-time, on a college campus.

Head Start is a federally funded program with a limited number of seats available that provides service to families in need who live in the Kansas City Public Schools area.
Early Childhood is a program with a limited number of seats available that provides service to any families residing in the Kansas City Public Schools area.
Parents As Teachers (PAT) is a service available to families who reside within the Kansas City Public Schools Area with children ages birth to 5 years of age.

Language Education
The dual language program model provides instruction to students in two languages, English and Spanish. The program integrates language minority students and language majority students for much of the instructional day, and provides content instruction and literacy instruction in both languages. The 50/50 model is utilized with paired teachers (a bilingual teacher and a mainstream teacher).

The Missouri Option Program is designed to target students who have the capabilities to complete Missouri high school graduation requirements, but for a variety of reasons lack the credits needed to graduate with their class and are at risk of leaving school without a high school diploma.
