
Specific Dress Code for FLA
Taken from Parent/Student Handbook (updated 7/11/11)
BOTTOMS:
Solid Black, Navy Blue, or Khaki pants, capris, walking shorts, skirts, shorts or jumpers may be worn.
Belts must be in belt loops, not over the blouse.
Pants must fit, not be oversized or sagging.
No sweatpants, denim, vinyl, velour, print (plaid), or overalls.
We are teaching our young people to dress appropriately for an academic environment. Therefore, shorts/skirts/dresses must be as long as the arm/hand, when placed at one’s side and pants must fit and be worn at the waist.
TOPS:
Solid white, navy blue, black, red, gray or light blue polo tops with sleeves and collars (long/short sleeved, not sleeveless or cap-sleeved).
Undershirts are white only (can be turtlenecks). T-shirts of the same colors can be worn under a collared uniform-colored shirt (examples: black t-shirt worn under a red collared shirt; orange t-shirt under a black collared shirt MAY NOT BE WORN).
JACKETS:
Outerwear jackets may not be worn in the building at any time.
Solid sweaters, sweatshirts or hoodies that are the SAME COLORS AS THE UNIFORM SHIRTS MAY BE WORN.
Plaids and stripes or jackets that are in different colors may not be worn.
Jackets with logos may be worn.
SHOES:
For your child’s safety, shoes must have toes and a back. No “wheelies”, flip flops, or sandals can be worn.
