Darrel W. Meyer
Chief Operations Officer
Darrel W. Meyer joined the Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) as Executive Director of Operations in July 2012. He was promoted to Chief Operations Officer in July 2013.Meyer worked for 10 years in the private sector in the areas of construction field supervision and later construction management. Meyer started his career in facility management in 1990 when he was hired as facility services superintendent at Metropolitan Community College-Longview, a position he held for eight years. He was promoted to director of facility services for the Metropolitan Community College in 1998.
Meyer graduated from the APPA Institute of Facility Management and has served at the state, regional and international levels in this organization. Meyer is the APPA past president, and has represented APPA and MCC nationally and internationally by presenting at numerous conferences and events during his three years of leadership with APPA International.Meyer holds a Bachelor of Construction Science degree from Kansas State University and a Master of Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management.

Child Nutrition Services
The Child Nutritional Services' nutrition program serves appealing, reasonably priced meals to your child and to all students in Kansas City Public Schools.

The Facility Services Department is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all district facilities while maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe environment for all KCPS students and staff.
Safety & Security
The Safety & Security Department is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for students, staff, district property and other key stakeholders that are part of the school district.
The Transportation Department of Kansas City Public Schools is responsible for providing safe, timely and efficient transportation of all eligible KCPS students that attend public schools.
