How to Enroll

Kansas City Public Schools offers a variety of options for students that reside within its boundaries. Simply follow our three-step enrollment process to begin your child's journey to college, career, and workforce readiness.
 

Who needs to enroll?

    • Students who are new to the Kansas City Public Schools
    • Former students of the Kansas City Public Schools who are returning after attending other schools
    • Current KCPS students applying to attend a different Signature School
 
 

  • Signature Schools are now enrolling K-12 students for the 2017-2018 school year.

    Signature School Enrollment

    Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) will begin accepting applications for new students starting December 1, 2016 for the 2017-2018 school year.

     

    New students include next year’s:

     

         • Pre-K Students
         • Kindergarten Students
         • Students applying to a KCPS Signature School
         • Students transferring from a non-KCPS School

     

    Enrollment applications are available below for download and printing at your convenience. Applications are also available at each school.

     

    (Please note the list of required documents to enroll within KCPS.)

     

    Signature School applications can be submitted to the school of choice starting December 1, 2016. The following schools will accept applications at the following times only:

     

         • Border Star Montessori School, 6321 Wornall Rd. – Dec. 1st • 4:00 to 6:00 pm

         • Harold Holliday Montessori, 7227 Jackson Ave. – Dec. 1st • 4:00 to 6:00 pm

         • Lincoln College Prep, 2111 Woodland Ave. – Dec. 1st & 2nd • 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and 4:00 to 6:30 pm

     

    Neighborhood School Applications will also be accepted at the 1211 McGee KCPS Board of Education Office as well as by mail and fax. For questions specific to your school of choice, please contact that school’s office.
