S.T.A.R.S is an acronym for  "Super,  Terrific, Achieving, Respectful, Scholars."  This program was developed to give every scholar the opportunity to be responsible for managing their own behavior and academic success.  The S.T.A.R.S. program also reinforces the principles of the Nguzo Saba.  The guidelines are set up to encourage Umoja (Unity) in the following school discipline plan.

To motivate the scholars to become self-managers, scholars will earn  KUJICHAGULIA RIBBONS WITH MEDALS.  The medals will be given after they have met the STAR qualities for 8 weeks.  The first 8 weeks is red, 16 weeks is black, 24 weeks is green and the highest honor is purple after 32 weeks! The scholars wearing these symbols have displayed self discipline, academic rigor, and the ability to follow the guidelines outlined in the Kujichagulia Self-Management Program.  These scholars meet high expectations and should be praised and acknowledged when wearing their MEDALS.

The following guidelines are designed to help scholars learn to manage their behavior.  To earn a medal, the scholars will uphold the following guidelines:
