What is SAC? SAC is the School Advisory Committee, the parent involvement organization for our school. SAC generally meets once a month. Every parent is welcome at Lincoln SAC meetings. It is our chance to meet other families, learn about educational changes and opportunities, and ask questions. It’s another important way that you can be involved and have a voice in your child’s education.
Who leads SAC? SAC is led by parent volunteers, like you. SAC officers are elected each year to coordinate efforts that provide for parent involvement in the school. Your SAC officers for the 2013-2014 school year are:
Tamara Sykes, Chair, 816-309-8782, firstname.lastname@example.org
Kim Sinclair, Vice Chair, 816-260-6751, email@example.com
Abby Mueller, Treasurer, 816-305-6660, firstname.lastname@example.org
Patrick Bustos, Secretary, 816-561-2033, email@example.com
Win Jamieson, DAC Representative, 816-522-7273, firstname.lastname@example.org
Josepha-Lara Smith, DAC Representative, email@example.com
Glenda Smith, Title I, firstname.lastname@example.org
Carrie Hewitt, Title I, email@example.com
Other parents serving in non-elected leadership roles include Sarah Barlow, Staff Appreciation; Kristian Foster, Beautification; Josepha Lara-Smith, School Spirit Wear Store; and Tonya Lovelace, Homecoming Chair, and Pattie Mansur, Communications/News.
How can I get involved?
1. Attend a SAC meeting and find out about volunteer opportunities.
2. Read the SAC newsletter, which regularly publishes requests for help (see info below on signing up for e-news).
3. Contact one of the parent leaders listed above and share your ideas.
4. PLEASE SUPPORT SAC through our SAC Activity Fund. Parents are encouraged to contribute $25 each school year to the Lincoln SAC Activity Fund to support school dances, beautification projects, academic clubs, and senior farewell activities. You can donate at any time. Send your check marked “SAC Activity Fund” to the front office or contact SAC Treasurer Abby Mueller, firstname.lastname@example.org to make your contribution.
Keep up to date on Lincoln: You can sign up to receive our Lincoln e-newsletter, which is sent by email twice a week. To sign up for the newsletter, click on the following link, or contact parent volunteer Pattie Mansur, email@example.com.
