Mrs. Jennifer Collier is a native of Kansas City, Kansas and a proud Alumnus of the University of Kansas. It was there she earned her Bachelors Degree in Vocal Performance, as music has always been one of her passions. Soon thereafter, she earned her Masters in Education from Avila University. As a teacher, she gradually began to fill numerous leadership roles within the school community, as well as in other venues, and knew that she wanted to pursue school leadership. At this point in her career, the school district began a new initiative to train prospective principals. She was selected to be a part of the Leadership Institute of Prospective Principals and concurrently earned her Ed Specialist in school leadership from UMKC. She is currently completing her Doctorate Degree in Urban Leadership from UMKC. Additionally, she just completed the LITE Academy, which is a Principal's training program sponsored by our district. Mrs. Collier has worked for Kansas City Public Schools since 1999 and has worked as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. She is very pleased to have recently joined the Border Star Montessori community where she seeks to build upon a strong tradition of excellence in education.
