How to enroll

The Kansas City Public Schools offers a variety of options for students that reside within its boundaries. Simply follow our three-step enrollment process to begin your child's journey to college, career, and workforce readiness.

Who needs to enroll?

    • Students who are new to the Kansas City Public Schools
    • Former students of the Kansas City Public Schools who are returning after attending other schools
    • Current KCPS students applying to attend a Signature School
If none of the above descriptions matches your student, please visit our registration page.
The Signature School Enrollment Application for 2016-2017 will be available on Tuesday, December 1st at 8:00am

Enrollment Step 1:

Explore your options.

Early Learning (Pre-K)

For students ages 3-4 to prepare for kindergarten.

Neighborhood schools

For students who live within the school attendance boundaries.

Signature schools

For highly motivated students with specific interests and goals.

Enrollment Step 2:

Make an informed selection.

Once you have made your choice, download  or pick up an enrollment application.

Submit your application.
