School starts on Aug. 13, 2012. Here's the basic information you need to know to get the best start to the school year.

Attendance Policy

The attendance policy was updated for the 2012-2013 school year to encourage regular attendance and student achievement.  This same policy will be in effect for the 2013-2014 school year.
  • Grades K-6: A student who misses more than 15 days in the school year may be retained in the same grade
  • Grades 7-12: Straight Scheduling - Students may receive failing grades in coursed for which they miss eight (8) days in a school semester.

Back to School Nights

Schools host back-to-school orientations at various times throughout August to give the students the tools and information they need to start off the school year right. Check the schedule here to see when your school's Back to School Night is. Please contact the school directly with any questions.

Bell times

For the 2013-2014 school year, bell times will remain the same for all schools except Success Academy at Anderson. Find the bell times for your school here


The most important date for back-to-school is August 12, the first day of school for K-12 and Montessori pre-k students. Note: All other pre-kindergarten students start school on Sept. 3. Free/Reduced Meals Application

Students may qualify for free or reduced school meals. Click here to fill out the application for your household. Students in households getting food stamps, temporary assistance or the food distribution program on Indian reservations can get free meals with a completed application. Other students may qualify for reduced price meals dependent on household income and circumstances.


Current immunization records are required to enroll or register students. Use the guides linked below to determine whether your child needs new or updated immunizations.
