Field trip to Uncle Earl's Mining Camp on Monday October 20th was an educational and fun experience for our students. While having fun they were able to meet one of the science objectives of dealing with rocks, minerals, and soil through a hands-on experience. They saw rock displays, rock cycles, screening and were identifying rocks. The students participated in a historical sluice prospecting. They returned to school not only with an enriched mining experience but real gemstones as well.
