Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers for Achievement logo Thank you for your interest in volunteering for KCPS in support of student achievement and our efforts to regain accreditation.
The Kansas City Public Schools is committed to providing a safe environment for students to learn. The district requires all prospective volunteers to undergo a criminal background check. Except as allowed by law, the district will only use this information for internal purposes.
 
Please follow these three easy steps to register as a volunteer with the Kansas City Public Schools:
  1. Register with the Family Care Safety Registry online. A one-time registration fee of $11 applies. (Stuck? Click here for instructions.)
  2. Complete a volunteer application and return it to
    Volunteers for Achievement
    1211 McGee St., Suite 1008
    Kansas City, MO 64106
  3. Wait for notification of approval from Kansas City Public Schools.

  • Facility Improvement Volunteers

    Kansas City Public Schools host ocassional facility improvement projects.  These projects are developed by school leadership in collaboration with the KCPS Facilities Department.
    Volunteers who participate must be over 18 years of age and must complete the form below.

  • Youth Volunteer Application

    Volunteers, under the age of 18, must be approved by the school principal.
    To be considered by the school, please complete the form below and return it to the Partners in Education office.
    You will be notified upon receipt of the application and again upon acceptance by the school.
