The district requires all prospective volunteers to undergo a criminal background check. Except as allowed by law, the district will only use this information for internal purposes.Please follow these three easy steps to register as a volunteer with the Kansas City Public Schools:

- Register with the Family Care Safety Registry online. KCPS will cover the cost of the registration and background check fee when the completed application is sent to our offices for processing. No refunds will be provided. (Stuck? Click here for instructions.)
- Complete a Volunteer Application and return it to

- Wait for notification of approval from Kansas City Public Schools.
Volunteers, under the age of 18, must be approved by the school principal.To be considered by the school, please complete the form below and return it to the Partners in Education office.You will be notified upon receipt of the application and again upon acceptance by the school.
