Brittany D. Foley is a proud Kansas City Public Schools parent, neighborhood leader, and dedicated advocate for equitable, student-centered education. Elected to the KCPS Board of Directors in April 2025, she brings a strong commitment to community engagement, literacy, and the revitalization of neighborhood schools.

Brittany holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Huston-Tillotson University, an HBCU in Austin, Texas and is currently working on her master's in Social Work. She has also earned certifications in restorative justice, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and Missouri Community Health Work these credentials reflect her commitment to holistic, justice-focused support for students, families, and staff.

She previously served as Chairwoman of the KCPS District Advisory Board and currently sits on the board of the Blue Hills Neighborhood Association. In both roles, Brittany has championed grassroots initiatives to uplift families and build more responsive, community-driven school systems. She is also actively involved with Single Mom KC, Greater Kansas City Women's Political Caucus, NCBW, local mutual aid efforts, and leads programs that support young parents through future planning, mentorship, mental health support, and educational access.

Professionally, Brittany works for the Federal Public Defender’s Office, where she represents individuals sentenced to death. Her legal advocacy is grounded in restorative justice and a belief in systemic reform. Her lived experiences inform her drive to create school and neighborhood systems that heal, support, and empower.

Brittany lives in South Kansas City with her fiancé, her son King, and their two cats, Wasabi and Mr. Business. In her free time, she enjoys riding with her Jeep group, gardening, and line dancing.
