Congratulations Class of 2021 

It’s graduation time! We are excited to announce we will host our 2021 KCPS Commencement Ceremonies at Arrowhead Stadium. You are invited to watch the KCPS graduations real-time, broadcasted on our livestream

 

June 3

  • Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts at 1:30 p.m.
  • Southeast High School at 4:30 p.m.
  • Lincoln College Preparatory Academy at 7:30 p.m.

 

June 4

  • Middle College at 10:30 a.m.
  • Central High School at 1:30 p.m.
  • Northeast High School at 4:30 p.m.
  • East High School at 7:30 p.m.

 

In case of inclement weather, June 3 ceremonies will be on June 7, June 4 ceremonies will be on June 8.

Summer Curbside Meal Pickup

KCPS Child Nutrition Services will offer its curbside meals pickup this summer. Pickup will be available from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays starting June 14 and run through July 23.

 

This drive-thru option is available at Northeast Middle School and Central High School, serving both breakfast and lunch. Meals will be provided for all children age 18 and younger. Families can receive food without any sign-ups or other paperwork.

KCPS Hiring Summer School Teachers

Make a difference and help students prepare for success in the new school year. Join the KCPS Summer School team!

 

KCPS is now hiring teachers for the Summer School session, June 21 through July 23. Both elementary and secondary teachers are needed at multiple sites this summer. To learn more or to apply, visit the KCPS Careers page.

KCPS Stream Team Awarded Bronze Telly

060221BronzeTellyAward.pngCongratulations to the KCPS Stream Team for their national recognition, being named a Bronze Winner for the 2021 Telly Awards. They were recognized for their coverage of the Southeast High School boys varsity basketball team’s district win over Odessa High School. The team is comprised of high school broadcast students as well as KCPS staff.

 

The KCPS Stream Team includes:

  • Dee Jackson – Executive Producer
  • Kennetra Pulliams – Play-by-Play Announcer
  • Jordan Jackson – Technical Director
  • Terie Brown – Camera
  • Marie Mantei – Camera
  • Gillian Johnson – Color Commentator
  • Sarah Wilson – Coordinator/Graphics

Founded in 1979 to honor excellence in local, regional and cable television commercials with non-broadcast video and television programming, the Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens. Winners represent work from all 50 states and five continents and include respected advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and independent creators from around the world.
