Information Technology

The Information Technology (IT) Department supports Kansas City Public Schools by delivering reliable, secure, and innovative technology solutions that enhance teaching, learning, and operational efficiency. Our team ensures that students, staff, and families have access to the tools and resources needed for success in a digital world.

What We Do:

  • Network & Infrastructure: Maintain secure and high-performing systems across all district facilities.
  • Device Management: Provide and support technology for classrooms, offices, and remote learning.
  • Cybersecurity: Protect district data and systems through proactive security measures.
  • Educational Technology: Implement tools and platforms that empower teachers and students.
  • Help Desk Support: Offer timely assistance for technical issues and troubleshooting.
  • Building Support Technicians: Provide on-site technical support in schools to ensure devices, networks, and classroom technology run smoothly.
  • AV Support: Manage and maintain audio-visual systems for classrooms, events, and district facilities.
  • Digital Coaches: Partner with educators to provide training and guidance on integrating technology into instruction effectively.

Our Mission:

The IT team will be viewed as an enabler from their users and viewed as a critical part of successful business operations. Our IT team will identify, develop, and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) which will enhance our dedicated service level agreements (SLA) and optimize the success or our students, faculty and community.

Service Desk Overview

The KCPS Service Desk is your first point of contact for all technology-related support. Our goal is to provide fast, reliable assistance to keep your systems running smoothly and minimize disruptions to teaching and learning.

What We Do:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for staff and students.
  • Assist with device setup, login problems, and software support.
  • Manage service tickets and coordinate on-site visits when needed.
  • Provide guidance on district technology tools and resources.

    A completely new network infrastructure ensures faster, more reliable connectivity for students and staff.

    Upgraded phones and intercom systems provide clear, efficient communication across all buildings.
  • Updated Paseo Auditorium
    State-of-the-art technology upgrades in the Paseo Auditorium support high-quality audio-visual experiences for performances and events.
