THE OFFICE OF PURCHASING
The Office of Purchasing, a division of the Business and Finance Department, mission is to provide superior service by adding value and improvement on behalf of the Kansas City Public Schools. The Office of Purchasing strives to become an acknowledged leader throughout Kansas City Public Schools and the surrounding community; recognized for innovative, high quality, and cost-effective approaches to meeting and exceeding our customers’ needs and expectations.
The Office of Purchasing publishes all bid opportunities locally through publications and online. To find more information on bids, please clink the link titled “Online Bidding System”. Once on the bidding site, to view the list of bids, under “Outreach” click “View Active Bid Opportunity Listings”. To view all bid solicitation documents, you must sign in. If you do not have a sign on, you MUST create an account. Purchasing accepts all bid responses for Kansas City Public Schools per the bid specifications. Supplier Diversity
Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) adopted its current MBE and WBE Policy on January 9, 2019. KCPS has a combined annual goal od 18.3% of applicable spend.
- MBE Goal is set to 9.8% based upon current market availability.
- WBE Goal is set to 8.5% based upon current market availability.
KCPS's objective and responsibility is to ensure that Minority (MBE), Women (WBE), Veteran (VBE), Disabled (DBE), Disabled-Veteran (DVBE), Hub Zone, and Small (8(a)) Business Enterprise firms have the maximum practicable opportunity to participate and compete for KCPS purchases and contracts. We influence the depth and diversity of the vendor pool by promoting fair and open access for District business opportunities. Such efforts strengthen the District’s economic vitality and assist in getting the best price and value for the District.
