On April 23, 2021, KCPS sold the Dunbar school site to The Carousel Adult Day Care, LLC. The Carousel had been leasing the site since April 2016 under a five-year lease with an option to purchase. The Carousel, an adult day care center that has served the Kansas City metro for over 13 years, began building improvements in April 2016, held a ribbon-cutting and open house event on September 8, 2016 and relocated its operations to the Dunbar site in June 2017.
