KCPS Lottery

How the KCPS Lottery Works

If you apply between November 8, 2025 and February 13, 2026 for a Signature School or Neighborhood Pre-K, and meet the eligibility requirements, your application will be entered into the KCPS lottery.

Note: This does not apply to students already enrolled in a KCPS Signature School. Those students will automatically move to the next grade unless they have been demitted.

Lottery Placement Criteria

Each application is scored based on the following factors:

• Submitted On Time: 10 points
• Current KCPS Student: 10 points
• Sibling at Same School: 5 points
• KCPS Staff or Board Member (living in district): 3 points
• Sibling at Another KCPS School: 2 points

Important Dates

• February 13, 2026: Lottery deadline.
• February 23, 2026: Lottery results (seat offer or waitlist status) will be available in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
• March 6, 2026: Deadline to accept a seat offer.
