Gather Required Documents

Before starting the online registration, please make sure you have the following ready:

• Proof of residency (see below)
• Student’s birth certificate
• Immunization records
• Previous school records (including IEP, if applicable)
• Parent/guardian photo ID

Having these documents on hand will make the registration process smoother and faster.

The district has the right to request additional proof at any time or to employ other means to verify residency. Under Missouri law, misrepresenting residency is a criminal offense. If a family's residency status is found to be inaccurately represented or changes without notification to the district, the district may act to recover the cost of services provided.

Accepted proof of residency documents

• Current utility bill (water, gas, or electric ONLY; no turnoff or disconnect notices)
• Valid property deed
• Current mortgage statement
• Current year real estate or property tax receipt
• Valid signed residential lease agreement
• Current year homeowner/rental insurance policy
• Current paystub/paycheck
• Current bank statement
• Current social services, Social Security, or legal/government document such as TANF or SNAP

Current = last 30 days
MUST be in the name of parent/guardian; otherwise need to complete Residency Affidavit (see below)

Residency Affidavit

Required when a parent/guardian cannot provide the accepted proof of address in their name. This form must be completed by BOTH homeowner/leaseholder AND the parent/guardian. The form must be notarized and both persons must be present. KCPS Admissions will provide a notary at no charge.

The homeowner/leaseholder must provide one item from List 1 in their name AND the parent/guardian must provide one item from List 2 in their name.

List 1 (Homeowner/Leaseholder)

• Current utility bill (water, gas, or electric ONLY; no turnoff or disconnect notices)
• Valid property deed
• Mortgage bill/statement
• Current year real estate tax receipt
• Valid signed residential lease agreement
• Current year homeowner/rental insurance policy

List 2 (Parent/Guardian)

• Current year property tax receipt
• Current paystub/paycheck
• Current bank statement
• Current social services, Social Security, or legal document such as TANF or SNAP
• Current car payment or car insurance statement
• Current student loan statement
• Current unemployment statement

Residency Affidavit (click to download) – Must be notarized. KCPS provides notarization at no charge.

NOTE: If providing a residency affidavit, the Head of Household must provide one item from the Proof of Residency list #1 in their name AND the Parent/Guardian must provide one item from the Proof of Residency list #2 in their name.

How to Start

1. Visit the Online Registration Portal
   Click “Start New Registration” to begin.

2. Choose the School Year
   Select the academic year you’re enrolling your student for.

3. Use a Valid Email Address
   This email will be used for all communication about your registration.

4. Begin the Registration
   Complete the requested information and click “Begin Registration.”

5. Save Your Application Number
   Write it down in case you need to return to your application later.

6. Complete All Sections
   Work through each section until you reach the end.

7. Submit Your Registration
   Click “Submit” to finalize your application.

What Happens Next?

Confirmation Email
After submitting your registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email. This email includes an Activation Key to set up your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account.

Application Review
Our Admissions Team will review your application. If additional information is needed, we’ll contact you directly.

School Records Requirement
Students cannot attend class until we receive their official school records from their previous school. This helps us:

• Place students accurately
• Support their learning needs
• Ensure a safe and smooth transition
• Comply with state law

Once a records request is made, the student’s prior school has up to 5 business days to send the records.

Exceptions: Students experiencing homelessness, arriving from outside the U.S., or those with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) may be exempt.

Student Start Date Notification
Once all required documents and records are received and processed, your child’s school will contact you directly to confirm their official start date.

Setting Up Your Parent Portal

1. Go to Infinite Campus
2. Select “New User”
3. Enter your Activation Key from the confirmation email
4. Create your username and password
5. Log in to access your Parent Portal
