The majority of scholarships are awarded to students who have cultivated strong grades especially those with a grade point average over a 3.0. Students who are in the top 25% of their class ranking often qualify for the most scholarships.

“To be eligible for the grant you must meet the following requirements: Achieve two grades of three or higher on Advanced Placement exams in the fields of math and/or science while attending a Missouri public high school. Qualifying Advance Placement exams in the fields of math or science include Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics C, Physics 1, Physics 2 and Statistics.”

Scholar athletes who are disciplined in academics and sports are eligible for greater choices in premier schools and competitive divisions. KCPS encourages its athletically talented students to maintain a strong GPA in order to attend a university with the best sports program.

Permanent residents and US citizens in the KCPS school district interested in the benefits of the A+ Scholarship are required to perform and/or mentoring service hours.  Please review the criteria like attendance, grades, and other qualifications to show how KCPS students are eligible for free tuition at a Missouri state community college or for an A+ scholarship at participating Missouri colleges.

Talented individuals who excel in dance, drawing, film, music, painting, poetry, theater, and writing may submit original work or recordings of their performances to schools and organizations sponsoring competitions. Search through the following list to view the criteria.

While being undocumented can pose many challenges, KCPS encourages its students to apply for several scholarships to achieve their career goals. Undocumented students can’t qualify for federal financial aid. However, undocumented students have found award money by accumulating various scholarships making college affordable especially in Kansas.
