Celebrate Our 2021 School Teachers of the Year

The 2021 Kansas City Public Schools Teacher of the Year Recognition Program honors the educators who structure their classrooms to increase performance and provide exceptional experiences, no matter what.

KCPS Board of Education (BOE)

Families who applied for kindergarten, pre-K or a Signature School by the initial deadline of Monday, Feb. 15, received emails Wednesday, March 3 with offers to their first, second or third choice school.

Zoom Across America

The Greater Kansas City Links Chapter is partnering with school systems across the metro to host Zoom reading sessions for kindergarten - third grade students in honor of Read Across America Week, the nation’s largest celebration of reading.

Commencement

2021 KCPS Commencement Ceremonies at Arrowhead Stadium June 3-4, 2021

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our 2021 KCPS Commencement Ceremonies at Arrowhead Stadium this year.  

June 3 (if inclement weather, ceremonies will be on June 7)  

  • Paseo Academy at 1:30 p.m. 
  • Southeast High School at 4:30 p.m. 
  • Lincoln College Preparatory at 7:30 p.m. 

June 4 (if inclement weather, ceremonies will be on June 8) 

  • Middle College at 10:30 a.m. 
  • Central High School at 1:30 p.m. 
  • Northeast High School at 4:30 p.m. 
  • East High School at 7:30 p.m. 

To ensure that we are able to safely accommodate families and adhere to the pandemic guidelines for seating at the stadium, each graduate will be allotted 7 guest tickets for the ceremony. 

Senior Class of 2021 End of Year Important Dates

  • IB Assessments (April 28 — May 21)
  • AP Assessments (May 3 — May 14)
  • Last Day for Seniors is May 21, 2021
  • Students MUST sit for AP and IB exams in order to participate in Commencement ceremonies.
