Students learn best about careers by seeing them in action. Your organization can provide a job shadowing experience for an individual student or a class to showcase the behind-the-scenes and day-to-day operations of your business.

Within 5 business days, you will be contacted to determine availability and discuss options based on classroom need. Within 14 days, we will have a date scheduled for students to participate in the job shadow.

Want to connect with students in asimple, yet impactful way? This can be done both in person at one of our schools or virtually.

Virtual sessions are hosted via The Connector and can be done from your desk, on-site at your business. Our teachers will have a classroom of students ready to meet you at a set time to hear you talk about your passions. Be prepared to come with the energy and hear questions from students at the end of your presentation.

Visiting our schools in person is now an option as well. Our team will work with you to find a time that works for you and a designated teacher.

The KCPS Career Mentoring program matches working or retired business professionals to students in grades 10 –12. Career Mentors provide career guidance, career exposure, and career planning support for them as they begin their transition into college or the workforce.

Students analyze and solve authentic problems working with other students, in partnership with industry professionals. Client-connected projects are a way for students to strengthen skills such as teamwork, organization and collaboration.

A internship is bigger than handing your boss a cup of coffee each morning. Internship experiences are meant to give students insight into the daily operations of a business or organization and require that students complete 120 hours of work.

Advisory committee is a group of persons selected to collectively provide recommendations and advice regarding career education and/or workforce development at the secondary, postsecondary, and adult levels.

Within 5 business days, you will be contacted to determine availability and discuss options based on classroom need. Within 14 days, we will have a date scheduled for the next advisory committee that aligns with your organization.

Meetings are held quarterly with teachers in person or virtually and are responsible for the following: advisement on goals of the career education program, performance standards for student achievement, program evaluation and overall strategic planning for career and technical programs.
