At the Wednesday, March 9, 2022, Board of Education meeting, three KCPS employees were recognized as “Terrific Teammates” for their contributions to their school communities.

With guidance from our trusted community health partners, the Kansas City Public Schools Board of Directors and administration agreed on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, to end our mask mandate, effective immediately.

On Jan. 29, 2022, 42 students from East High School, Lincoln College Prep and Lincoln Middle School competed against students from four other districts and three charter schools in the 2022 PREP-KC Math Relays. KCPS won 41 of 98 awards!

CURRENT KCPS FAMILIES

You’re all set! Current KCPS students will automatically “roll up” to the next grade, and no action is required from parents/guardians at this time. Please do not submit an application for new enrollment unless you want your child to attend a different school next year, as this will cause processing delays. Thank you for choosing KCPS for your student!

If you would like your child to attend a different school next year, it's easy to apply in Infinite Campus. If you have not already set up your Infinite Campus parent portal, you will need an activation code:

 

NEW KCPS FAMILIES

Need help choosing the right school for your child? KCPS now has an online School Finder tool for families to filter options by location, grade and interests. Still not sure which KCPS school is right for you? Prefer to enroll in person? Visit the Board of Education, 2901 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO 64109. The Admissions Office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Please be patient if you have already applied to KCPS. Our Admissions Team is working quickly to process new enrollments. However, due to the high volume of applications, we are currently experiencing processing delays. We look forward to welcoming you to KCPS!

 

FREE PRE-K FOR 3- AND 4-YEAR-OLDS

Do you have a 3- or 4-year-old ready to start pre-K? From Montessori to foreign language, African-centered studies to neighborhood schools, KCPS has an option for every family!

Enrolling in free pre-K is easy for current KCPS families! Log into Infinite Campus, go to More > Online Registration and follow the steps to add a new 3- or 4-year-old. Complete the process by clicking “Finish registration.” We are processing pre-K applications as quickly as possible and will be in touch soon.

If your child is currently in P3 and transitioning to P4, your child will be automatically enrolled in P4 at the school they currently attend. If your child is P4 and transitioning to kindergarten, your child will be automatically enrolled at their zoned neighborhood elementary school. You can use School Finder to find your neighborhood school. P4 students at Signature Schools will be automatically admitted to kindergarten at the same school. Please do not submit an application for new enrollment unless you want your child to attend a different school next year.

If you would like to change where your child attends pre-K or kindergarten next year, please log into your Infinite Campus Parent Portal to let us know your preferred school.
