East Bears Head to Quarterfinals with Strong Record

The East Bears are 14-2-1 this season, besting teams from across the metro, including Blue Springs, Park Hill, Kearney, Grain Valley, Blue Valley, Blue Valley West and Pembroke High School.

The Bears have scored 82 goals all season, while opponents have only scored 16 against the Bears. Leading scorers on the season are sophomore Esube Byoke with 23 goals and 10 assists and freshman Jackson Twizerimana with 19 goals and 15 assists. East's defense is led by seniors Useni Mmunga and Msafiri Ebunga, junior Msafiri Ebumbe and sophomore Omari Shabani.

The Bears are ranked No. 1 in Class 3, District 8 and will play their first district game against Winnetonka at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Pembroke Hill High School, 5121 State Line Rd., KCMO. Tickets are available through the Missouri State High School Activities Association. Good luck, Bears!
