"In schools, children need to have a place of belonging. They need to know they're accepted. They have to find their niche, that thing they’re good at,” said KCPS Deputy Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Collier.

Current KCPS students will automatically “roll up” to the next grade, and no action is required from parents/guardians at this time. Please do not submit an application for new enrollment, as this will cause processing delays.

KCPS reviews admission and enrollment policies every year to ensure we are upholding our promise of an equitable education experience for all students. Changes for 2022-23 include:

  • Updated Proof of Residence Policy: Families will now only need to upload one document to enroll
  • Carver to Paseo Middle School Pilot: Sixth graders at Carver Dual Language School will be admitted automatically to a new bilingual program in development at Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts
  • Reinstatement of Paseo Audition Policy: Paseo will return to its policy of requiring high school students to audition for admittance
  • Streamlined Signature Schools Application: Current KCPS students can apply for Signature Schools directly in Infinite Campus
  • Updated Lincoln College Prep Admission Policy: KCPS will continue to suspend standardized testing requirements for Lincoln due to COVID-19, admitting students via lottery if they have a 3.0 GPA in core subjects, 90% or better attendance and no more than two Class 3 discipline offenses

We hope the changes we have made will make it easier for your family to continue to choose KCPS. KCPS will begin enrolling students for the 2022-23 school year next month. Please continue to watch your email for important enrollment information.
