With cold and flu season upon us, KCPS has many resources for keeping your family healthy this fall. Remember, if your child is ill, please do not send them to school.

KCPS Students Earn More Than $1.4M in Scholarships

KC Scholars surprised students at Lincoln College Preparatory Academy with scholarships on Friday, April 29, 2022. Eleven Lincoln Prep juniors received traditional scholarships worth up to $10,000 per year for five years. Unlike most scholarship programs, KC Scholars targets juniors to give the student and their family assurance that college is indeed possible and attainable.

Congratulations to the KCPS student scholarship recipients of the Hispanic Development Fund and KC Scholars!

Students from KCPS high schools will use these awards to further their education after they graduate. Hispanic Development Fund recipients were awarded up to $5,000 to fund their first year of college or career programs. The 2022 total amount in Hispanic Development Fund scholarship dollars is $35,000.

Additionally, KC Scholars identified a large number of KCPS freshmen and juniors who will participate in special college advising from the organization, assistance with college admissions and scholarship applications, and tours of several colleges. The KC Scholars Match scholarship allows families to save toward a college education by matching funds for up to $1,400 and performing activities toward college preparation. The KC Scholars Traditional scholarship is a larger sum which awards up to $50,000 for juniors to use at any of its regional 17 partner colleges and universities. The 2022 total amount in KC Scholars scholarship dollars is an impressive $1,440,600 that KCPS students earned.
