Brian Wieher is the district’s new Director of Child Nutrition Services. He comes to KCPS with more than 20 years of experience in team leadership, project management, public relations and customer service. Most recently, Wieher worked for Operation Food Search in St. Louis, where he oversaw all child and family nutrition programs, including the USDA Summer Food Service Program, the after school meal program, and Operation Backpack, the weekend meal program.

As a child nutrition advocate and award-winning school nutrition specialist, Wieher has worked collaboratively with organizations to develop relationships that will have the greatest impact on ending childhood hunger. In 2019, Wieher’s work was recognized by the national nonprofit No Kid Hungry when he was the only Missourian inducted into the inaugural class of the No Kid Hungry Hall of Fame. This class honors those who ensure children have the nutrition they need to learn, play and grow after school.

In his spare time, Wieher enjoys watching his children excel in their passions of music and dance. He also enjoys camping, fishing and, above all, baseball.
