Lincoln Middle Debate Takes Tourney Title

The Lincoln Middle School debate team successfully made the case for being among the best in the region with a first-place finish in the DEBATE Kansas City (DKC) tournament held virtually on Thursday evening, Dec.3.
This is the first school year that LMS has fielded a debate team in local competition. They've had a strong start, with a second-place finish in DKC's first event earlier this fall.
The LMS squad is helmed by Dr. Terrie Miller and teamed by students from two debate classes and an after-school club.
LMS earned first place at the Dec. 3 competition in Team Sweepstakes, which recognizes the best overall squads. The team outperformed a number of other schools with long-established and well-regarded debate programs, including Barstow School. Many LMS team members won individual recognitions.
