NEHS DECA Adds New Members with Campaign

Northeast High School students Michaela Marshall, 12; Jamal Edward, 11; Amisi Mpole, 11; and Maleah Rivers, 9, recently traveled to Boston to attend a DECA conference. DECA teaches students 21st Century Skills. The students also visited historic sites and attended a Celtics game.

Northeast High School DECA was recently recognized for its 2021-22 membership campaign. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.

Each year, DECA recognizes leading chapters that have built strong local programs focused on serving an exceptional number of members, advisors, alumni and business partners. These chapters and individuals dedicate their year to academic and career preparation, community service projects, membership recruitment, school outreach activities and other DECA-related endeavors.

"We are excited to see our program grow and get passionate students opportunities they might not get otherwise," said Andrew Corrao, who along with Andrew Kreling and Casey Donahue advises NEHS DECA. "These opportunities show our students that every student has potential and gives them access to the tools to realize said potential."

Of the 3,000 DECA chapters, only 775 chapters earned recognition in DECA’s membership campaign, including just 16 schools in Missouri.
