KCPS is embarking on a significant effort to improve our school facilities following decades of facility needs that have gone unaddressed. In April 2025, KCPS will put a General Obligation (GO) Bond on the ballot to provide funding to address critical deferred maintenance needs and improve the learning environment for all KCPS students.

What bond funding will allow KCPS to do:

  • Every KCPS student will benefit---20 schools will each receive $5+ million investment to improve building conditions & learning environment.
  • Upgrades to safety & security, including alarm systems, secure entry points, elevators & ADA accessibility to keep students and teachers safe.
  • Investments to address critical deficiencies, including heating and cooling, roofs, windows, electrical, plumbing and bathrooms.
  • Improved spaces for learning environments: Classroom renovations, advanced-tech STEAM labs, outdoor learning/play area investments, improved music spaces & gym/athletics upgrades.
