Student Records and Transcripts
The Office of Student Records provides student records and transcripts for all graduates of Kansas City Public Schools. We also have GED transcripts for a student who obtained their GED in Missouri.
**** **SYSTEM UPDATE**
Beginning March 26, 2020, Kansas City Public Schools will begin processing online student records request through ScribOrder. This will include any requestor who will be requesting high school transcripts or education verification requests. ScribOrder is a user-friendly module that will allow easy requesting for KCPS graduates and third-party corporations. For K-12 record requests, please continue to submit your request to the school the student last attended. If you have questions, please contact the Student Records Office at 816-418-7735. Thank You.
Request Records – Former Students and Graduates
In Person Request
To complete a request in person, please come to the Board of Education building located at 2901 Troost Avenue between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please bring your Photo ID along with a $5.00 processing fee.
To complete a written request, please download and mail the following items:
- Request for Student Records Form
- Copy of Photo Identification
- $5.00 Processing Fee (Money order or Cashier Checks Payable to KCPS)

To obtain IEP records, please contact the Exceptional Education Office at 816-418-8941.
School Districts requesting school records for students who are enrolling into their district may submit their request via fax to the school. To find the fax number for schools in KCPS click here.

NOTE: Kansas City Public Schools is required by law to release the name, address, and telephone listing of juniors and seniors to military recruiters and institutions of higher education upon request. If an eligible student or parent makes a formal request, then this information will not be disclosed.
