Students will acquire knowledge and skills in core competencies including an introduction to the health care delivery system, human anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, infection control, human growth and development and interpersonal communication. During the required clinical experiences, students work closely with professional staff providing project-based care and emotional support to residents in health care facilities. Prior to completion of the program, students will sit for the CNA exam and be prepared for entry level employment and/or continued education at the post-secondary level. Students will participate in HOSA as part of the course requirements.
