Each February, the UMKC School of Dentistry participates in the annual Give Kids a Smile program sponsored by the American Dental Association. This year UMKC dental students delivered free dental care to 27 children from three Kansas City Schools: Garfield, Wheatley, and Wendell Phillips. The children received restorative care on Friday, February 2, and Tuesday, February 6. Three private practitioners from the Greater Kansas City Dental Society, Dr. Neena Patel, Dr. Nelson Farney, and Dr. Ellen Sheridan graciously donated their time delivering care on Friday. The remainder of the care was delivered by UMKC dental students also delivered care.
Delta Dental of Missouri also assisted with their generous financial support for the two days!
