Hartman Elementary Claims Grand Prize in the Chiefs' Playing It Forward Contest
Kansas City, December 14, 2016: Students and
staff at Hartman Elementary School got a great holiday gift when they got word
on Monday, Dec. 12 that they had won the grand prize in the Kansas City Chiefs'
Playing It Forward contest.
a grand prize winner, Hartman Elementary will get two suite-level tickets to
the game this Sunday, Dec. 18, and a Play 60 school assembly with KC Wolf in
the spring. Those rewards are in addition to the 100 tickets to a 2017
pre-season Chiefs game the school already won after being named one of five
finalists in the contest.
Schools were selected as finalists based on how well they go above and
beyond to incorporate the goals of the Play60 program by promoting healthy
activities, healthy snacks, and education around staying active. The grand
prize winner was selected by popular vote.
Hartman Elementary's Playing It Forward campaign was coordinated by
physical education teacher Paulette Coble. The school's grand prize is a
reflection of a lot of hard work by Coble, her teammates and the students at
Hartman to create a culture around health and wellness, according to Principal
are so thrilled to get this recognition and thankful to the Chiefs and all the
other sponsors for making it possible," Dr. Kirksey said. "We're
looking forward to celebrating with our students! This is one more positive
that we can add to the list of great things happening at Hartman!"
