Kansas City, January 24, 2017: Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) and the
Missouri College Advising Corps (MCAC) are hosting the KCPS FAFSA Day for high
school seniors and their parents from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28
at Central Academy of Excellence, which is located at 3221 Indiana Ave. in
Kansas City, Mo.
FAFSA Day is an opportunity for seniors to get guidance and assistance from
MCAC experts with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
FAFSA completion is required for any student who wants to receive any college
financial aid through state or federal programs.
student who wishes to participate in KCPS FAFSA Day should bring a laptop and
charger, his or her Social Security number, an alien registration number if he
or she is not a U.S. citizen, 2015 tax forms or W-2 forms, and records of any
untaxed income (including Social Security payments, disability assistance,
child support, etc.).
addition to expert guidance on college financial aid, KCPS FAFSA Day will also
include raffle giveaways and refreshments.
Missouri, FAFSA forms are given priority for state college financial aid if
they are submitted by Wednesday, Feb. 1.
