Are you a family in need of essential food items? If so, come join us this Saturday, July 18th from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Our KCPS Partner, The Church of the Resurrection, will bring their Mobile Food Pantry onsite! This is a NO COST event. You can shop for fresh produce, proteins, dairy and nonperishables, WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.

Thank you Access KC (@AccessKC) and Dr Boucher (@Boucher Eye Care) for bringing See to Succeed to KCPS Woodland Head Start! This program provides free eye exams and glasses to students supporting both their health and academic success. Dr Boucher saw 30 kiddos and delivered eyeglasses right to our site! Did you say FREE Car Seats? We sure did! On May 12th at 8:30 am, Woodland Head Start families are invited to participate in a Parent Cafe' on Car Seat Safety and Installation. You MUST attend the full Parent Cafe' in order to receive a free car seat. If you have questions, please reach out to your Family Advocate.

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is celebrating this important work through a week long celebration - the Week of the Young Child. Our classroom themes include:
Music Monday - Develop your child's language and literacy skills through singing, dancing, and listening to music.
Tasty Tuesday - Cooking together connects math with literacy skills, science, and more!
Work Together Wednesday - Building something together explores math and science concepts, combined with social and early literacy skills.
Artsy Thursday - Through open-ended art projects where children can make choices, you are developing creativity, social skills, and fine motor skills.
